We are full up with working shareholders for 2011 - check back next year.
A great hands-on way to learn about farming, get your hands in the dirt, get to know some crazy fun people, or just have a weekly break from your routine, is to sign on as a working shareholder with Many Hands Organic Farm. You will receive the share size(s) of your choice commensurate with the amount of time you decide to work.
Expectations for the Working Shareholders
- Summer full share - $575 - 72 hours
- Spring - $165 - 24 hours
- Fall - $150 - 20 hours
- Fruit - $80 - 10 hours
- Flowers - $75 - 10 hours
We are looking for one shareholder on Mondays, and one on Wednesdays, both days from 8-12. At then end of the morning we share a pot luck. We will have a time log for you to sign in and out of each day that you are here.
Working shareholders need to be timely, healthy and hardy and willing and able to work fast and thoughtfully, even in rain and hot sun. Though the pay for this job comes in the form of produce, we still have high expectations for performance.
Because the IRS requires reporting for barter activities, if you sign up to work valued $600 you will be sent a 1099 and we will report this as compensation to the IRS. If you earn less than $600, we don't report it.
If you are interested in a working shareholder position, give a call to Julie at (978) 355-2853 or email (julie@mhof.net) and we can set up a "working interview". Work can start as early as mid-April or as late at mid-June.
